Frequently Asked Questions
What types of therapy do you offer?
We provide individual therapy using evidence-based approaches tailored to your specific needs. Our therapeutic methods may include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), trauma-informed care, and supportive counseling depending on your goals and challenges.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we are credentialed with several major insurance panels through Headway and accept most major insurance plans including Ascension, Aetna, Oxford, Carelon Behavioral Health, United Healthcare (Oscar), Optum, and Cigna. Contact us at (954) 993-5868 to verify if we accept your specific insurance plan. We can also provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement if your plan offers out-of-network mental health benefits.
How long are therapy sessions?
Standard individual therapy sessions are typically 50-60 minutes. During your first session, we'll discuss your needs and establish a treatment plan that works for you.
Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
I offer in-person sessions at my Coconut Creek location and offer secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth therapy sessions for clients throughout Florida. Virtual therapy sessions provide the same quality of care as in-person visits and allow you to receive mental health treatment from the comfort and privacy of your home. Telehealth is ideal for those with transportation challenges, busy schedules, or who prefer remote care.
What can I expect in the first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your history, current challenges, and goals. This helps us create a personalized treatment approach. There's no pressure—we go at your pace.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, your privacy is paramount. Everything discussed in therapy is confidential with limited exceptions required by law (imminent danger to self or others, suspected child or elder abuse, or court order). We'll review confidentiality policies in detail during your first session.
Do you work with people currently in crises?
While we provide ongoing support for serious mental health conditions, if you're currently in acute crisis, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room. Once stabilized, we can work together on ongoing treatment and crisis prevention strategies.
